Search is on for PCCI BIDA Awards

 
The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), the largest business organization in the country through its PCCI Training, Education, Science, and Technology Committee (PCCI-TEST) is now accepting nominations for Best Business Idea and Development (BIDA) Award for college students.

The BIDA award is co-sponsored and supported by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Department of Science of Technology (DOST), and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

Recognition of Innovativeness and Creativity.

Dr. Eduardo G. Ong
, Vice President for Education and Chair of the PCCI-TEST Committee said, “through these award we recognize the innovativeness and creativity of the Filipino youth. We also hope to bring out the entrepreneurial spirit and help to promote and develop a sense of nationalism and entrepreneurship among the students.

Nominations.

The BIDA award is open to any group of three (3) to five (5)
Dr. Eduardo G. Ong, Vice President for Education and Chair of the PCCI-TEST Committee
 college students enrolled in business education and related programs (Associate or Bachelor’s Degree) in schools affiliated withEntrepreneurship Education Association of the Philippines (ENEDA), Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC), Philippine Council of Deans and Educators in Business (PCDEB) and other Business Education Program (Educators or Students) Organizations.

Awarding ceremonies will be held during the 33rd Philippine Business Conference and Expo (PBC&E) on October 24-26, 2007 at the Manila Hotel with Her Excellency President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo as Guest of Honor.

Taking off from the last year’s theme “ONE. GLOBAL. FILIPINO.” this year’s PBC&E theme is Through Public-Private Partnership highlights the proactive and shared vision of business and government in moving the country forward through initiatives that promote sustainable economic development and global competitiveness.

Deadline.

Entries together with supporting documents must be submitted on or before 31 August 2007.
